Renaissance Art in Emilia-Romagna and Milan with Renaissance Art Historian Elaine Ruffolo

This special tour will begin in Milan and visit Lake Como, before spending time in the region of Emilia‐Romagna. Four nights will be spent in Milan and four nights in Bologna, with visits to Ravenna, Parma, Mantua, Pavia, and Como.

Whether you have been to Italy many times or never before, this trip promises to be a unique and memorable experience.

About Emilia‐Romagna: It is said that this area of east‐central Italy will one day be the next Tuscany. Towns here look much the same as they did in the 14th and 15th centuries, minus the crowds that can overwhelm the region of Tuscany to the west. At least for now, travelers to Emilia‐Romagna can intimately and authentically experience the true Italy. Some of the most important art and architecture of the Renaissance, and certainly the most important outside of Tuscany, will be explored on this tour with a Renaissance art historian. Visit quintessential Renaissance towns filled with outstanding art, fabulous food, and warm people, who will welcome you during special visits into their homes. "In Italy for the Gourmet Traveler, published in 1996, Fred Plotkin flatly declares Emilia-Romagna 'the most outstanding region in Italy' for eating." ~ NY Times
