SBMA Education Fund, Program Highlight: ArtReach

For over twenty years, SBMA’s ArtReach program has sent SBMA Teaching Artists into school classrooms with limited or no access to art education, providing hands-on instruction and art supplies at no cost for participating schools. Lessons emphasize the materials and methods artists use, and the cultural context in which their works are produced.

During the 2020-2021 school year, lessons are taught on Zoom and include virtual field trips for grades K – 12. SBMA has partnered with eight different schools in Santa Barbara, Goleta, Carpinteria, and Ojai—serving over 800 students on a weekly or monthly basis.
