Join us for a lecture by Mary G. Morton, curator and head of the French paintings department at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Her new book, Cassatt Reconsidered, argues that Mary Cassatt was not merely a painter of motherhood, but among the most daring, intellectually ambitious, and radically modern artists of her era.

In her curatorial work at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, the J. Paul Getty Museum, and the National Gallery, Dr. Morton has done projects on Courbet, Gauguin, Caillebotte, Cezanne and Corot. Two years ago, she collaborated on Paris 1874: the Impressionist Moment at the Musée d’Orsay and the National Gallery.

Please arrive and check in before the program begins. Reservations will be held for 10 minutes after the scheduled start time; after that time, unclaimed seats may be released to waitlisted guests.
