Szymanowski Quartet - CANCELED

Chamber Music Concert

This gifted and critically acclaimed Polish quartet will return to SBMA for the ninth time! Founded in Warsaw in 1995, the Szymanowski Quartet is one of the most exceptional and experienced international string quartets in the world of chamber music. The ensemble has received numerous prizes and distinctions for its extraordinarily high standards. They won first prizes at Hanover’s “In Memoriam Dimitri Schostakowitsch” and at the “Premio Vittorio Gui” Competition in Florence, and were prizewinners at both the Osaka and the Melbourne International Chamber Music Competitions.

The quartet has captivated audiences at prestigious festivals and concert halls worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, London’s Wigmore Hall, Amsterdam’s Concertgebouw, and Vienna’s Musikverein. This SBMA favorite will perform Haydn’s Op. 1, No. 1, Schönberg’s D Major (1897), Mendelssohn’s Op. 13, No. 2 in A minor, and Szymanowski’s Nocturne & Tarantella Op. 28 (arr. Myroslav Skoryk).

Chamber Music Concerts at SBMA are supported by the Katharine Putnam and Reginald M. Faletti Concert Fund with additional support from the Curletti Fund.
