Japan by Land & Sea aboard Heritage Adventurer
Join fellow museum members for two full days of sightseeing in Tokyo followed by an eight-night cruise through the Inland Sea and the Sea of Japan aboard the 140-passenger Heritage Adventurer. Discover a Japan that few visitors see—from the bustle of Tokyo to the tranquil historic quarters of Kanazawa and the island worlds of Miyajima, Sado, and Naoshima.
Excursions highlight modern art and architecture as well as the ancient traditions of Japan, with visits to sacred temples and shrines, celebrated gardens and castles, and cultural performances. Engage with expert study leaders throughout this unique educational program and gain a better appreciation of Japan’s historical and cultural significance through onboard lectures and informal discussions. An optional pre-trip extension to Kamakura and the hot springs resort of Hakone, and an optional post-trip extension to Kyoto, and the ancient city of Nara, are also available.
Aboard the Heritage Adventurer there will be a maximum of 140 passengers, including travelers from SBMA as well as other cosponsoring organizations. Public spaces and open decks abound, including two separate bar and lounge areas, a saltwater pool, hot tub, sauna and steam room, a well-equipped gym, an observation deck, a library, and a wellness center offering facials and massages.
Depending upon cabin choice, approximate prices range from $9,990 per person, double occupancy to $16,990 per person, double occupancy. A limited number of discounted cabins for single occupancy in select categories will be approximately $11,490 and $14,490.
Priority will be given to SBMA Members who were signed up for a 2020 Japan cruise that had to be canceled, followed by those on the "early interest" list if space remains available. If the trip is not full, it will then be shared with all Members.
