You will work in a beautiful, newly renovated museum in downtown Santa Barbara and be part of a team that supports art, education, and community access while engaging with a diverse public through our exhibitions and programs.
Our Security Guards maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all visitors, while patrolling museum spaces to prevent theft, damage, or safety concerns. They provide friendly directions and information to guests, observe and report any security or safety issues, and support special events, including evenings and weekends

A professional and approachable demeanor is essential, security or customer service related experience is helpful, and law enforcement experience and/or bi-lingual skills are a plus and valued, but not required. Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, lift items up to 25 lbs occasionally, and respond quickly to emergencies or urgent situations. - Security Guards report to the Co-Chief of Security.
- Schedule: Part Time, regular status, 25 (up to 29) hours per week, with ability to adjust schedule for some evenings, weekend or holidays.
- Compensation: $20.00/hour
- Benefits for Part Time status working over 20 hrs/week include accrued vacation up to 15 (prorated) days in first two years of service, 40 hours of paid sick leave reissued annually, and 13 paid holidays (14 on Federal election years). 403b eligibility with a Museum match up to 5% of your earnings after a year of service, SB BikeSpot membership, and working in beautiful downtown Santa Barbara with a supportive team.
