Students will learn how to prep materials, use basic tools, center clay, throw simple forms, and trim and glaze their pieces. This session will use colored underglaze pencils to achieve a loose, mark-making quality similar to Berthe Morisot's Portrait of Marthe Givaudan (1892), on view in the special exhibition Cassatt & Friends.
Week 1: Intro to pottery & Throwing forms
Week 2: Throwing forms
Week 3: Trimming
Week 4: Glazing
No classes will take place on November 11 or November 25.
Ages 16 and up
