Behind the Scenes in Kansas City and at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art
Created exclusively for SBMA Members, this intimate domestic journey offers rare access to the collectors and artists shaping the sophisticated cultural landscape of these two regions beyond what could be arranged independently. Over four nights and five days, enjoy curator- and director-led tours to renowned art collections, invitations into private homes, and behind-the-scenes artist studio visits—all woven together by a local art expert who brings depth, context, and personal connection throughout the program. Experience architecture of Moshe Safdie, Frank Llyod Wright, E. Fay Jones, Bruce Goff, and Steven Holl, in a dialogue between contemporary collecting and architectural vision. Two nights will be spent at the 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville, Arkansas, where art surrounds you, followed by two nights at The Fontaine Hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, an ideal base for exploring the city’s rich cultural scene together. The journey invites guests to see the American Heartland through the lens of creativity, generosity, and bold vision.
