Visitor Services Associate - 2 Part Time Positions Regular or Temporary Status
The Santa Barbara Museum of Art is one of the finest museums on the West coast and is celebrated for the superb quality of its permanent collection. Its mission is to integrate art into the lives of people through internationally recognized exhibitions, special programs, as well as the thoughtful presentation of its permanent collection.
The Museum is seeking friendly, outgoing, dependable people with good customer service skills to serve as Visitor Services Associates. This essential role is a facilitator between visitors and the Museum ensuring members and visitors have an enjoyable, engaging, and memorable experience. Your duties will include greeting visitors, providing information about the Museum’s exhibitions, hours and events, collecting admission fees, and selling memberships.
Requires High School diploma or equivalent and excellent public relations skills. One to three years previous cashier experience preferred; knowledge of or interest in art/art history desirable. Schedule may require some evening, holiday and/or weekend hours when the Museum is open to the public.
• The positions report to the Member and Visitor Services Supervisor
• Schedule may include weekends and holiday or variable scheduling may be required, up to 20 hours per week.
• $17.24 per hour and paid sick leave,
• Successful Background Check is required, and proof of full vaccination for COVID-19.
