Week Three - July 6 – 10
Sketch & Sculpt

Ages 7 – 9

Fill the pages of your sketchbook using a variety of drawing materials under the influence of Museum artists. Use wire, wood, clay, cardboard, and found objects to build sculptures that play with shape, scale, form, and color.

Printmaking & Textiles

Ages 5 – 6

Reimagine textile pieces in Remixed: Entwined Histories and New Forms in felt, yarn, thread, and recycled fabric. Campers will explore traditional and contemporary fiber arts techniques such as sewing, weaving, embroidery, and mixed-media surface design. Works on paper from around the world will inspire a series of relief prints and Gelli plate monotypes.

Ceramics & ReMade – Dreams

Ages 9 – 12
SBMA’s Art Studio @ The Downtown Club
632 East Canon Perdido St.
Spend the morning in the clay lab learning the basic techniques of throwing pottery at the wheel in a fun and relaxed environment, making simple clay forms, and experimenting with surface decoration and glazing techniques. After lunch, focus on multimedia re-made projects that combine, reuse, and repurpose materials into unexpected works of art inspired by the Museum’s collection.

Please email communityprograms@sbma.net to cancel an enrollment. Full refunds will be given for cancellations made four weeks prior to the class start date. Future camp credit will be offered for cancellations made two weeks prior to the class start date. No refund will be provided past the four-week date.
