The Santa Barbara Museum of Art presents internationally recognized collections and exhibitions and a broad array of cultural and educational activities. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Development Assistant. This key supporting role will contribute administrative and coordination skills toward our Capital Campaign and various Development Department functions such as our Annual Fund and Museum events. The primary responsibilities will include keeping all our stakeholders well informed of the Capital Campaign with its progress and activities, and additionally with some prospect research and coordination.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of administrative support experience, preferable in a development environment, or non-profit. The best candidate will have excellent planning and organizational skills as well as an ease with our Board of Trustees, Volunteers and the public. Prior experience in membership support, customer service, or related field is preferred. The Position requires data entry and record-keeping experience with an extremely high level of attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and excellent customer service skills. BA degree is preferred and the position must maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality. Knowledge of fundraising software Raiser’s Edge or other is an asset.
The position reports to the Capitol Campaign and Major Gifts Officer.
Schedule: 40 hours per week – Temporary to support campaign TBD
Salary is $15/hour with comprehensive benefits including paid time off/paid holidays and medical/dental/vision/retirement plan eligibility.
