This summer, SBMA’s Art Camp turns the Museum into a creative playground! Across seven immersive weeks, children spend their days making art, experimenting with materials, and solving creative challenges, all inspired by original works from the Museum’s collection and special exhibitions.
Each camp session concludes with a special exhibition for families, where students showcase their work and even step into the role of docent for a day, sharing their ideas and perspective. For children who can’t get enough of creating, exploring, and learning through art, this camp offers a summer immersed in artistic exploration.
Registration is now open.
Teaching Assistant (TA) positions are for 15 – 18-year-olds interested in art and/or working with children. The positions are on a volunteer basis and count toward required community service hours.
The TAs are responsible for assisting the Teaching Artist in the classroom, preparing materials, and helping children with hands-on art-making. They provide a vital element of SBMA programming, including being role models for students and campers, as well as an added source of fun and enthusiasm. Teaching Artists rely heavily on the TAs to ensure that their classrooms run smoothly.
The 2026 Summer Camp TA application period opens March 2, 2026
Application deadline: Monday, May 18, 2026 at 11:45 pm
